WASHINGTON, D.C. — In an unintentional show of competence, the U.S. Congress passed a bill late Tuesday while attempting to delay a different one, causing widespread confusion and panic among lawmakers.
“We didn’t mean to actually pass anything,” said Senate Majority Leader Crumpleton P. Blathers (R–Delusion). “Someone sneezed, someone hit the voting button. It all happened so fast.”
Analysts warn this may set a dangerous precedent of accidentally governing.
